TODDLER ROOM
This Room is suitable for children aged 2 - 3.
We work in a 1:5 ratio, our aim is to learn and develop through child-initiated and adult-led play.
This allows toddlers to gain skills that can be applied outside of the nursery.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
A day in the life of a Toddler at Lily's Day Nursery
7:30-9:00
Breakfast and Free Play. During free play we enjoy playing in our kitchen with real fruit, veg, tins and jars. We use recycled boxes and planks to make car ramps and tracks.
9:00-10:00
Toddlers love making their own playdough, using spices and herbs to create different scents. We make potions using different shampoos and shower gels in the water tray, we make dinosaur swamps in sand and will do craft activities such as junk modelling or collage making.
10:00-10:15
A fruit or vegetable based snack. Our favourites are sliced apple, cucumber and hummus or melon boats.
10:15-11:15
Outdoor Play. We enjoy den building, playing in our mud kitchen with real veg, pots and pans. We make obstacle courses using planks and logs and enjoy riding on our ride ons.
11:15-12:00
Lunch time
12:00-13:00/14:00
Nap time.
14:00-15:00
Activities. We usually have a range of activities such as baking, playdough, music and dancing, parachute games, number and shape hunts around the room. We also have rolling snacks available when the children want it.
15:00-15:15
Yoga/Mindful Activity. We will do a yoga routine, practise some happy breathing with bubbles or have a drink of warm milk under a blanket and listen to stories.
15:15-15:45
Outdoor Play, enjoying a range of activities outside.
15:45-16:30
Teatime. We wash our hands and wash faces; we will help ourselves to our own cutlery and drinks and will help to make our own tea.
16:30-18:00
Free Play. We enjoy using our play equipment, drawing and reading stories.
