PRE-SCHOOL ROOM

This room is suitable for children aged 3 - 5. 

We work in a 1:8 ratio. In this room your child will explore the seven areas of learning. Where we will teach your child basic social, problem solving and language skills. These concepts will be taught through one to one or in groups with the children using techniques such as games, story telling, experimenting, art, music and play.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

A Day in the life of a Pre-schooler at Lily's Day Nursery

7:30-9:00
Breakfast and Free Play. We encourage the children to make their own breakfast, help to cut up fruit, butter their own toast.

9:00-10:30
Activities/Free Play. We enjoy investigation activities such as buried magnetic/non magnetic items sand using big magnets, using real tools and hammers to create bug houses.

10:00-10:15
A fruit or vegetable based snack. Our favourites are sliced apple, cucumber and hummus or melon boats.

10:15-11:30
Outdoor Play. We go on nature hunts looking for specific plants or animals, we build dens outside and enjoy planting and growing activities.

11:30-11:45
Phonics. Phonics games include looking for items around the room that begin with a certain sound.

11:45-12:15
Lunch time

12:15-14:00
Free Play/Activities. We choose our own resources; we enjoy painting and creative activities such as collage making and cutting/junk modelling. We continue to play with playdough and will play in the sand and water trays.

14:00-14:30
Yoga/Mindful Activity. We will do a yoga routine, practise some happy breathing with bubbles.

14:30-15:15
Outdoor Play, enjoying a range of activities outside. 

15:15-16:00
Teatime. We wash our hands and wash faces; we will help ourselves to our own cutlery and drinks and will help to make our own tea.

16:00-18:00

Free Play. We enjoy using our play equipment, listening to music and reading stories.
