Welcome to Lily's Nursery

ImageWelcome to the Lily's Day nursery website.

We would like to welcome you to our Nursery and to inform you of some background and other useful information about our setting.

Lily's Day Nursery has been established since 1998 and now provides full day care for children aged 3 months to 5 years old.  It is based in Ridgemond Training but is a separate unit which is open and available to all.  The Nursery is located on the ground floor and has wheelchair access to the main building and double doors to the Nursery.  Lily's Nursery staff are aware that 'reasonable adjustments' will need to be made in order to make the Nursery fully inclusive as per the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 as and when the need arises.

Lily's Day NurseryThe children are split into three rooms to cater for the different ages, namely babys, toddlers, and pre-school.  As your child grows, they will move up to the next room where the care role is less intensive as they begins to develop independence, and the educational role becomes more central.  All children, in line with government legislation and guidance, learn through play which forms the foundations of all future learning cross-curricula.  Children naturally play and and they do not make a distinction between work and play.

Lily's nursery is part of Ridgemond Training who support the nursery in all aspects.

The Nursery is led by Mrs Natasha Forde, and her management team consist of a deputy manager, Michelle McAleese.  Mrs Forde is responsible to Mrs Lorna Penman who is our Cooperative Services Manager, and the Human Rssources Manager within Ridgemond Training. Additionally, there are several other members of staff who work on a full-time basis, and we also engage with students on appropriate courses and occasional volunteers which are known and trusted individuals.  All those who work with young children will be in receipt of an Enhanced CRB check and the safeguarding of all children is very stringent within our company.

The Nursery is registered for 49 children split into the three rooms.  Within that number we are only allowed to take a maximum of 24 under-2's at one time in order that we comply with National Standards and are able to provide intensive care for your children.
